2016 WRMS Cross Country Season Information
Practices
We will start practices the second week of school on Monday, August 29th @ 7am. Make sure you have your physicals ready at this time and use http://eanesisd.rankonesport.com/ to fill out your mandatory UIL paperwork. More information will be passed out during your lunches on Tuesday and Wednesday, the first week of school. Please ask questions if you have any when you see me at the school.
Times?
7:00am. - 8:00am Monday - Thursday (we will not practice the day of meets) *If you unable to make it to a practice, please inform me ahead of time. Athletes are expected to make it to every practice. No matter what the weather, we will find a place to work out (could be running in the school).
What to wear?
I suggest wearing shorts and a light T-shirt. It will be too hot to wear sweats. Make sure to wear running shoes. It may be a good idea to wear two pairs of socks; this will reduce the number of blisters. Also please try to bring a bottle of water to every practice and hydrate with water before and after practices.
Weekend Practices?
All runners are encouraged to run 30-45min each weekend. Try to run in the afternoons in order to get use to the heat. Meets will all be run at 5:00pm (except for Saturday meets). All races will be run at or about 2 miles (no further).
Transportation
Athletes are expected to ride on the bus to all meets. The bus will depart and return to WHS 9th Grade Center for every meet, unless the meet is held during school hours then it will depart from WRMS and return to the 9th Grade Center. If you are going to leave with your parents from a meet, you must have your parent sign out with the coach. All athletes that leave with another athlete’s parents from a meet must give written permission from his/her parents.
Meets: We will have six meets this 2016 season. The last meet will be held at the end of October
* We are planning on having a total of six meets this season
*All Saturday meets, athletes will run before 12noon. All other meets, athletes will run after school.
